To: People’s Committees of provinces or central-affiliated cities.
COVID-19 has been recorded in most countries worldwide; effective and dedicated vaccine against strains of SARS-CoV-2 have been developed and circulated; in recent time, COVID-19 is slowing down in both number of infection cases and number of deaths worldwide. In Vietnam, COVID-19 is under control on a nationwide scale thanks to high coverage of COVID-19 vaccine.
Given the COVID-19 situation and Decree No. 89/2018/ND-CP dated June 25, 2018 of the Government elaborating to the Law on Infectious Diseases regarding medical quarantine at border, the Ministry of Health hereby requests the People’s Committees of provinces and cities to direct affiliated entities to:
1. Suspend health declaration for COVID-19 at all Vietnamese checkpoints for people entering Vietnam from April 27, 2022.
2. Maintain supervision of passengers entering Vietnam via checkpoints in accordance with Decree No. 89/2018/ND-CP dated June 25, 2018 of the Government elaborating to the Law on Infectious Diseases regarding medical quarantine at border.
3. Actively update documents communicating and recommending COVID-19 control to suit current situation and promptly produce news reports.
The Ministry of Health shall continue updating and providing information on worldwide and nationwide epidemic situations in order to develop appropriate control measures.
