Decree 17/2019/ND-CP amending Decree 07/2017/ND-CP stipulating the order and procedures for pilot implementation of electronic visa issuance for foreigners entering Vietnam

DECREE

ON AMENDMENTS TO THE GOVERNMENT'S DECREE NO. 07/2017/ND-CP DATED JANUARY 25, 2017 PRESCRIBING PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES FOR PILOT ISSUANCE OF ELECTRONIC VISA TO FOREIGNERS ENTERING VIETNAM

Pursuant to the Law on government organization dated June 19, 2015;

Pursuant to the Law on promulgation of legislative documents dated June 22, 2015;

Pursuant to the Law on immigration, emigration, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam dated June 16, 2014;

Pursuant to the Law on electronic transactions dated November 29, 2005;

Pursuant to the Law on information technology dated June 29, 2006;

Pursuant to the Resolution No. 30/2016/QH14 on pilot issuance of electronic visa to foreigners entering Vietnam dated November 22, 2016;

Pursuant to the Resolution No. 74/2018/QH14 on the 6th meeting of the 14th National Assembly dated November 20, 2018;  

At the request of the Minister of Public Security;

The Government promulgates a Decree on amendments to the Government's Decree No. 07/2017/ND-CP dated January 25, 2017 prescribing processes and procedures for pilot issuance of electronic visa to foreigners entering Vietnam.

Article 1. Amendments to the Government's Decree No. 07/2017/ND-CP dated January 25, 2017

1. The List of countries of which citizens are eligible for pilot issuance of electronic visa (Appendix I) and the List of border gates allowing foreigners to enter or exit by using electronic visas (Appendix II) mentioned in Clause 1 Article 9 are amended as follows:

b) The List of border gates allowing foreigners to enter or exit by using electronic visas (Appendix II) is amended as follows:

- List of road border gates:

+ Tay Trang international border gate, Dien Bien province;

+ Na Meo international border gate, Thanh Hoa province;

+ La Lay international border gate, Quang Tri province;

- List of seaport border gates:

+ Duong Dong seaport border gate, Kien Giang province;

+ Chan May seaport border gate, Thua Thien – Hue province.

2. Article 11 is amended as follows:

“Article 11. Effect

This Decree takes effect from February 01, 2017 to February 01, 2021 inclusively.

Article 2. Effect and implementation

1. This Decree takes effect within two years from February 01, 2019.

2. Ministers, Heads of Ministerial-level agencies, Heads of Government bodies, and Chairpersons of People’s Committees of provinces or central-affiliated cities shall implement this Decree./.
