PRESCRIBING IMPORT TARIFF-RATE QUOTAS FOR SALT AND POULTRY EGGS IN 2024

Pursuant to the 2017 Law on Foreign Trade Management;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 96/2022/ND-CP dated November 29, 2022 defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018 elaborating some articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management;

Pursuant to the Government’s Decree No. 26/2023/ND-CP dated May 31, 2023 introducing export tariff schedule, preferential import tariff schedule, list of commodities and their flat tax, compound tariff, and out-of-quota import tariff;

At the request of the Director of the Agency of Foreign Trade;

The Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam promulgates a Circular prescribing import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024.

Article 2. Methods for allocation of import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024

Import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024 shall be allocated adopting the allocation method prescribed in the Government’s Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018 elaborating some articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management and the Circular No. 12/2018/TT-BCT dated June 15, 2018 of the Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam elaborating the Law on Foreign Trade Management and the Government’s Decree No. 69/2018/ND-CP dated May 15, 2018 elaborating some articles of the Law on Foreign Trade Management.

Article 3. Entities eligible for import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024

1. The import tariff-rate quotas for salt shall be allocated to traders who directly use salt to produce medicines, medical products and chemicals.

2. The import tariff-rate quotas for poultry eggs shall be allocated to traders that wish to import poultry eggs.

Article 4. Time for allocating import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam shall discuss with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam to determine the time for allocating import tariff-rate quotas for salt and poultry eggs in 2024.

This Circular comes into force from February 06, 2024 to December 31, 2024 inclusively./.
