DECISION

ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS AND LAW WHICH IS A MEMBER OF THE VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY – HO CHI MINH CITY

THE PRIME MINISTER

Pursuant to the Law on Organization of the Government dated December 25, 2001;

Pursuant to the Law on Education dated June 14, 2005;

Pursuant to Decision No. 121/2007/QD-TTg dated July 27, 2007 of the Prime Minister giving approval to the Plan on the network of universities and colleges during 2006 – 2020;

Pursuant to Decision No. 07/2009/QD-TTg dated January 15, 2009 of the Prime Minister promulgating the conditions and procedures for the establishment, operation suspension, merger, division, separation and dissolution of universities.

Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Training at the Official Dispatch No. 76/TTr-BGDDT dated February 27, 2010 on the establishment of the University of Economics and Law, affiliated to the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City,

DECIDES:

Article 1. To allow the establishment of the University of Economics and Law on the basis of upgrading the Faculty of Economics of the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City.

Article 2. The University of Economics and Law is a public tertiary education institution, has the legal person status, its own seal and bank accounts.

Article 3. The University of Economics and Law shall operate under the University Charter promulgated under the Decision No. 153/2003/QD-TTg dated July 30, 2003 by the Prime Minister and Regulations on the organization and operation of the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City.

Article 4. This decision takes effect from the day on which it is signed.

Article 5. Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of Government’s agencies, Chairpersons of People’s Committees of central-affiliated provinces and Director of the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City shall implement this Decision.
